The choice of configuration depends on the material, the required particle size and the physical and chemical characteristics of the product.
Liquid nitrogen: cooling and an inert atmosphere in a single gas
Liquid nitrogen cools the material to its embrittlement or glass transition temperature before it enters the mill. It ensures temperature control during grinding, dissipates the heat generated by impact, and creates an atmosphere with low oxygen and moisture content, thereby preventing the risk of fire and explosion and improving the quality of hygroscopic and oxidisable organic products. The flow rate is regulated by a control system that continuously measures the oxygen percentage in the mill.
SIAD micronisation systems
Micronisation utilises the speed and high pressure generated by nitrogen to create a series of impacts that reduce particles to sizes of less than 10 microns. SIAD offers micronisation systems optimised in terms of gas consumption and particle size distribution, ensuring pharmaceutical-grade standards for the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and pharmaceutical formulations.
Supply continuity with Platinum: Total Gas Management
For continuous-cycle cryogenic grinding plants, Platinum is the Total Gas Management service that entrusts SIAD with the full logistics, maintenance and operational management of gases and plant. It includes remote monitoring of the cryogenic tank, automatic reordering, maintenance of distribution lines, periodic technical inspections and regulatory advice.
