Why gases for wafer and optical fiber production
In wafer and optical fiber manufacturing, even a trace impurity can compromise yield and cause the product to be rejected: this is why gases of extreme purity are required. The different stages—deposition, lithography, etching, doping, annealing and chamber cleaning—use specialty gases, certified mixtures and specific process gases. SIAD provides a comprehensive range of high-purity products, with in-house purification, quality control and packaging dedicated to the electronics industry.

SIAD offers a complete range of pure gases and process gases, specialty gases and mixtures for the manufacture of wafers and optical fibers, with purities tailored to the different process stages, supported by analysis systems and dedicated packaging and materials for the electronics industry.
Oxygen is available in several intermediate purities, up to ultra-pure O₂ 99.9999% in bulk and compressed form, thanks to a dedicated purification plant. Nitrogen and argon come from air separation units using a cryogenic process. Helium is distributed as liquid in bulk, liquid in dewars and compressed in cylinders, cylinder bundles and tube trailers, with an ongoing commitment to diversifying sources to ensure continuity of supply.
From carbon monoxide to ammonia, both purified in-house in electronic grade, SIAD covers the most critical specialty gases for semiconductors. Through partnerships with leading players in the chemical industry worldwide, it also supplies rare gases, isotopes, fluorinated gases, acids and other process gases.
Thanks to the laboratory’s expertise, SIAD supplies different types of mixtures used in semiconductor manufacturing processes: mixtures based on hydrides or fluorinated gases, O₂/He or He/N₂ mixtures, laser mixtures and mixtures with rare gases.
Pentatec provides analysis instruments and systems for controlling the purity of gas flows, including systems for ultra-pure gases and quality control automation. Electronic gases are available in a wide range of packaging, from small cylinders to tube trailers (CO, H₂), dewars (He, N₂) and tanks (Ar, CO₂, He, N₂, O₂). SIAD also provides dedicated cylinders and materials for customers in the electronics industry.
