Closed Circuit Grinding
In mills where plastics, sugar, cellulose, sulphur, aluminium are being processed, there is a danger of fire or explosion.
The risk factor is heightened by the fineness of the powders produced and the temperatures generated within the grinding equipment. Temperatures reached inside a mill can vary anything from 40 °C to 80 °C and the fine powders, which accumulate in the filtration and purification areas of the plant, can easily encounter ideal combustion conditions.
An effective system for avoiding the incidence of fire inside a mill is to have it operate in an inert atmosphere within a closed circuit; the flow of nitrogen delivered being regulated by a control system which continuously measures the percentage of oxygen present in the system.
