Micronization - SIAD Società Italiana Acetilene e Derivati
Micronization is a grinding operation in which the material being milled must be reduced to extremely fine particles; this process benefits from the speed and high pressure of nitrogen used to create a series of impacts which reduce the particles to sizes of less than 10 microns.
SIAD offers a micronization system which is optimised both in gas consumption and granulometric consistency terms, guaranteeing pharmaceutical quality.
A mixture of air/nitrogen is often used as a process gas or even pure nitrogen which, thanks to its inert properties, enables work to be conducted in safety, even where working with extremely finely, subdivided powders.
It is possible, for heat sensitive materials, to use nitrogen in the mill as a cooling system in addition to its use as a drive fluid; in this way both the inertizing and cryogenic properties of this gas are exploited.
