PerFORM WATER 2030: the first research and demonstration platform to face the challenges of the public water management sector

SIAD è partner di PerFORM WATER 2030SIAD is partner of PerFORM WATER 2030, an Italian project financed by the Lombardy Region from European funds, which involves 8 industrial companies with an important role in the water sector (GeneGIS GI, HyDEP, MMI, Passavant Impianti, SEAM engineering, SIAD, Veolia Water Technologies, VOMM), 2 universities (POLIMI, UNIMIB) and 1 research institute (IRSA-CNR) with the CAP Group as lead partner and the scientific coordination of Professor Francesca Malpei of the Politecnico di Milano.

PerFORM WATER 2030 intends to create a long-term experimental platform for research, development and validation of innovative technologies and tools, in order to assure an increasingly efficient management of the public urban water, in the perspective of sustainability, resource recovery and circularity.

The SIAD Laboratory for Environmental Biology and Chemistry, opened in 1989, deals with applied research in environmental sector of wastewater treatment and remediation of contaminated sites.

As a partner of the PerFORM WATER 2030 project, it is involved in activities regarding three different thematic areas: Water research line (Micropollutants removal by chemical oxidation, Monitoring and reduction of emissions from wastewater biological treatment), Biosolid valorization (Sludge production minimization, Misure, modelli e controlli per la minimizzazione dei fanghi), Recovery of energy and materials (Ozonolysis pre-treatments to increase biogas production, Biogas quality improvements through micro-oxygenation).

Thanks to the experience and professionalism acquired over the years, the SIAD Laboratory for Environmental Biology and Chemistry is a trustworthy partner in the development of new projects and technologies with specific care and emphasis on the protection of the environment.
