Additive manufacturing is a process that, starting from a CAD model, can (then) create 3D objects using different methods: from the overlap of metal powder melted by a laser beam, to direct powder or wire deposition.

This technology enables the creation of complex shapes that could not be accomplished by traditional methods, such as casting or subtractive techniques.

Why is gas essential for producing high quality metal additive manufacturing parts?

High purity shielding gas prevents the contact between molten metal and air elements such as oxygen, humidity and pollutants.

Argon and nitrogen are commonly used in all processes, with considerable importance for powder oxidation prevention.

Cooperation with customers, Fab Lab and technology providers makes SIAD a reliable gas partner, with proven expertise and process competence.
