OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series certification | SIAD
In December 2007 SIAD obtained the certification according to OHSAS 18001 regulation of the Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series (SGS) for the plant in Osio Sopra.
During 2009, the certification has been extended to the different production units on the territory. The certificate hereby obtained, issued in December 2009, confirms that SGS, applied to all company units, is in conformity with OHSAS 18001 regulation. OHSAS 18001 standard (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) sets the requirement of a SGS, enabling in particular the company to:
- formulate targets and policies in conformity with the regulations in force and according to the dangers and risks potentially existing at the work place,
- safeguard workers exposed to risks for health and safety,
- ensure the conformity with safety and health policy regulations at work place and give demonstration outdoors,
- certify its own Management System of SSL (OHSAS) through an independent body.
OHSAS 18001, that starting from 2007 has been standing up to norm (BS OHSAS 18001:2007), is perfectly compatible and integrating with ISO 9001 and 14001 norms pertaining the Quality Management System and the Environment Management System for which SIAD has already obtained the certifications back in the nineties.
