Why coffee storage and degassing matter
After grinding, coffee naturally releases carbon dioxide: proper management of this phase is crucial for the quality of the final product and the efficiency of the production line. The use of gaseous nitrogen makes it possible to speed up the degassing process, reduce downtime before packaging, and protect the organoleptic properties of coffee during storage in silos.
1
Accelerated degassing, less downtime on the line
2
Organoleptic properties preserved throughout the entire process
3
More controlled CO2 release with technologies tailored to each type of coffee

SIAD offers high-quality food-grade gases, nitrogen-powered systems for pneumatic conveying and degassing, and specialized technical support for coffee roasters. Its activity goes beyond supply: it includes process analysis, technological consultancy, and training on gas use and the safe handling of packaging.
When introduced into storage silos, gaseous nitrogen reduces the percentage of oxygen in the internal atmosphere, preserving the organoleptic properties of coffee and promoting a more controlled and balanced release of CO2 during the degassing phase. SIAD systems do not require manual operations and are designed to adapt to different production configurations.
Ground coffee or coffee beans can be transported through nitrogen systems in pressure and dense phase, operating efficiently and safely from silos to packaging points. For final packaging in cans and capsules, FOODLINE, SIAD's food-grade gas line, is developed to preserve the quality, aroma, and taste of the finished product.
SIAD offers an analysis service to verify gas parameters in accordance with food regulations, as well as training courses for the safe management of gases in collaboration with accredited training centers. All devices comply with EC Regulation No. 1935/2004. ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 certifications guarantee product quality in every supply.
