Water well restoration
The Aqua Freed® process uses carbon dioxide in both liquid and gaseous phases to remove scale and blockages that impair the flow rate of production wells. Over time, filters and drains tend to become encrusted with mineral deposits, biofilm and iron-oxidising bacteria, or become blocked by the accumulation of fine sand and silt. The Aqua Freed® treatment restores the well’s pumping capacity, delivering tangible benefits such as reduced energy consumption and an increase in the amount of water available.

CO₂
Natural, non-toxic CO₂ that leaves no residue

Alongside the supply of carbon dioxide, SIAD offers a comprehensive well rehabilitation service, from the initial assessment of the well’s condition through to its return to service. Specialised technicians manage every stage of the treatment, ensuring that the well’s hydraulic efficiency is fully restored.
Carbon dioxide, in both its liquid and gaseous states, is a natural, non-toxic substance. It does not contaminate the groundwater and does not pose any problems regarding waste disposal, as it is naturally eliminated within a few hours of treatment.
Once the pump has been removed, the technicians lower a packer to the required depth. Its seal against the wellbore wall allows liquid and gaseous CO₂ to be injected both into the well and into the surrounding geological formations, where it acts at depth.
Once the work is complete, the well is restored and tested, the pump is reinstalled, and the well is returned to service. Meanwhile, the synergistic action of the CO₂ has dissolved the scale and removed the fine materials that were blocking the drain and the aquifer.
The same system can be used to regenerate barrier wells and landfill biogas extraction wells, which are prone to blockages and scale build-up
