Technical Gases for the Shipbuilding Industry
The construction and maintenance of ship structures require welding of thick-walled carbon and stainless steels, often under challenging operating conditions. The choice of gas directly affects the quality of the weld, the speed of execution, and the reduction of defects such as porosity and oxidation. SIAD supports shipyards with certified gas mixtures for MIG-MAG and TIG processes, flexible point-of-use supply, and a single point of contact for all shipyards within the same company.

Centralized management of orders, cylinders, and tax documents

SIAD offers gas mixtures and gases for welding ship structures made of carbon steel, austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, duplex steel, and super duplex steel. These products are complemented by management services tailored to the shipbuilding industry, designed to simplify logistics and ensure operational continuity in complex environments.
Gas logistics for all of the company’s construction sites are managed through centralized procurement by headquarters, with identical terms and conditions for each delivery point. Monthly monitoring of gas cylinders and the management of tax and shipping documents—with costs allocated by construction site—eliminate the risk of discrepancies and lost documents.
SIAD designs and manufactures turnkey gas distribution systems, featuring AISI 304/316L stainless steel and copper piping that has been degreased and pickled. Each system is tested in accordance with UNI EN 737/3 and UNI 11627:2016 and delivered with certificates of conformity.
